Workflow
/WERK-floh/
tl;drA workflow is the sequence of steps a piece of finance work follows from start to finish: an invoice moving from receipt through coding, matching, approval, and payment, or a close task moving from open to reviewed to signed off.
Workflows are the natural unit of automation, because each step is repeatable and each handoff is a place where delay or error tends to creep in. Automating a workflow doesn't just speed up the individual steps; it removes the gaps between them, where work used to sit waiting for someone to notice it.
