🎓 Light AI Academy · Executive Programme

Teaching AI to Run Finance

An executive programme for finance professionals. The agents are ready. The primary job of the finance function is now getting the company's relevant context into the hands of the agent, so it can operate with full context: your policies, your exceptions, your judgment. Over six modules, you'll learn exactly how.

What does a finance function do when agents do the work? It teaches.

Every close you've run, every exception you've handled, every judgment call you've made is context an agent needs to operate, and today most of it lives in your team's heads.

This programme trains you to capture that context and hand it to agents systematically: from your first automated workflow to a full control environment where AI runs the processes and your team governs them. You'll work in live Light environments throughout, and finish having automated a real process from your own company.

Benefits and career impact

Benefits for you
  • Learn the defining skill of the next decade of finance: teaching agents your company's context.
  • Automate a real process from your own finance function during the programme.
  • Build and ship working tools and integrations without an engineering background.
  • Understand the controls and audit questions that come with AI-run processes.
  • Earn the Light AI Academy digital certificate on completion.
Benefits for your organisation
  • Tribal knowledge becomes captured context: policies and exceptions agents can act on.
  • The close gets faster and the team stays lean as transaction volume grows.
  • Controls get stronger, not weaker: every agent action is governed and logged.
  • A finance team that improves its own automation instead of filing IT tickets.

Programme content

Six modules with one thread running through them: an agent is only as good as the context it's given. Each module combines taught sessions, worked examples in live Light environments, and exercises on your own processes.

01 Module 1

Workflows

Where every automation journey starts: turning the processes in your head into workflows a system can run.

  • Map your finance processes end to end and identify the steps agents can own.
  • Configure approval chains, routing conditions, and matching rules.
  • Decide where human judgment stays in the loop, and encode it as policy.
  • Ship your first production workflow with a full audit trail.
02 Module 2

Finetuning Agents

A generic agent knows accounting; only context makes it know your company.

  • Understand what agents know out of the box, and what only you can teach them.
  • Turn policies, your chart of accounts, and exceptions into instructions and skills.
  • Write playbooks agents follow reliably, and test them before they run.
  • Practice the core discipline: getting your company's context into the agent's hands.
03 Module 3

Orchestrating Your Agent Setup

Real processes need multiple agents working together, and clear rules for when people step in.

  • Design multi-agent processes: extraction, approval, reconciliation, follow-up.
  • Define handoffs between agents and escalation paths to people.
  • Place review points where they protect the ledger without slowing it down.
  • Case study: a full purchase-to-pay flow run end to end by agents.
04 Module 4

Feedback and Learning

Context isn't handed over once. It has to keep flowing, and corrections have to stick.

  • Build the feedback loop: review agent output, correct it, make the correction permanent.
  • Measure agent quality over time with metrics your auditors will accept.
  • Turn one-off fixes into standing context the agent carries forward.
  • Know when to rewrite the playbook, and when to add a control instead.
05 Module 5

Vibecoding and System Integrations

If you can describe it, you can build it. This is the module where finance ships software.

  • Build internal tools by describing them, using Lovable and AI-assisted coding.
  • Connect your systems over Light's MCP and API. No engineering ticket required.
  • Extend the Slack, Teams, and Google Sheets plugins for your team's workflow.
  • Ship a working integration within the module, from idea to production.
06 Module 6

System Thinking and Control Environment

Automation without control is risk. The capstone: designing the environment agents operate in.

  • Design roles, approval thresholds, and segregation of duties for AI-run processes.
  • Keep the audit trail immutable while agents post at machine speed.
  • Prepare for the questions auditors and regulators ask about agentic finance.
  • Capstone: design the control environment for your own finance function.

Every close you've run, every exception you've handled, every judgment call you've made. That's the context your agent is waiting for.

How you learn

Two formats, one curriculum. Both taught on live Light environments, never slideware.

Face-to-face · The Global Finance Hackathon Tour

Light and Lovable are taking finance hackathons around the world. Join a tour stop for an intensive in-person day: teams of finance professionals automate a real process such as invoice handling, reconciliation, or expense chasing, with mentors from Light and Lovable, and demo working automations by the evening. Tour cohorts continue the remaining modules online. Follow the tour schedule for the next stop near you.

Live online

The same six modules taught in weekly live sessions, from your home or office. You work in your own Light environment on your own processes, with small cohorts, real-time feedback from instructors, and exercises reviewed between sessions, so what you build in the programme ships to production after it.

No coding background needed. If you can describe your process, you can teach an agent to run it.

Faculty and speakers

Taught by the people who build Light and put it into production at customers every week.

Ex-engineer and ex-accountant. Chris builds Light's accounting product with both hats on, and teaches the modules where they meet.

Chris Bell

Product & Accounting

Ex-management consultant. Petr leads the Agentic Customer Engineering team at Light, the people who put agents into production at customers.

Petr Perina

ACE Lead

Ex-controller and implementation consultant with heavy ERP experience. Rasmus has run the migrations Light was built to make unnecessary.

Rasmus Christensen

Implementation Lead

Certificate and who attends

Built for the people who own the numbers, not for engineers.

Digital certificate

Complete all six modules and the capstone to earn the Light AI Academy certificate: proof you can teach AI to run finance.

Who attends

CFOs, VPs of Finance, controllers, finance ops leads, and accountants who want agents doing the heavy lifting.

Alumni community

Graduates share playbooks, skills, and agent setups that worked, across companies and countries.

Teach the agent. Keep the judgment.
