Stockholm, with something to announce
Hackathon number eleven came with news attached. We've just launched our partnership with KPMG, which puts agentic finance within reach in 140+ countries, and we could think of no better way to kick it off than to fill KPMG's Stockholm HQ with finance people and let them build.
80+ of them turned up. Controllers, group accountants, finance leads, most of whom had never shipped a working app in their lives. Our friends at Lovable were there to make sure that stopped being true by lunchtime.
The builds
No slides, no theory. Everyone in the room picked the part of their job they liked least and built their way out of it. Three stood out.
Early Warnings Monitor
Built by NCC
Customer, financial and delivery signals connected across 50 active projects, so risk surfaces before it becomes a financial surprise. The panel that made the room go quiet: "green on paper, warning in the signals", the projects whose official financial status says everything is fine while the early warning engine strongly disagrees. Every finance team has a version of that list. Very few can see it.
Dunning Desk
Built by Epidemic Sound
Every lapsed contract billing, ranked by how late it is, each with the next collection step already decided. It rebuilds itself at 09:00 Stockholm time every weekday, emails the list and posts it to Slack. It also reads the AR inbox and tells you why each invoice is actually stuck: amount disputed, purchase order number missing, billing contact long gone. Chasing, minus the chasing.
Consolidation Copilot
Built by Natural Cycles
Upload a raw ledger export, get a board pack back. In between, it maps your chart of accounts to group reporting lines, translates every entity ledger to one currency, matches the intercompany pairs and ranks the differences that actually cost you days, largest first. The demo ran three entities and 468 accounts through an August close and came out the other side with zero accounts unmapped.
And the winner is … Consolidation Copilot
Two of our top three tell you where the problem is. Consolidation Copilot goes and does the work.
That was the difference. It was the only build that travelled the whole distance, from raw ledger export to finished board pack, and it took aim at the single thing that eats more of a finance team's calendar than anything else: group close. "Zero accounts unmapped, zero real differences to follow up" is a screenshot every group controller would like to be looking at on the fifth working day. This one produced it in an afternoon.
What's next
We're not going far, and we're not waiting long. Next week we're in Copenhagen with Lovable and Nordic FinTech Week, doing it all over again.
And with KPMG now alongside us, the room keeps getting bigger. Eighty finance people in Stockholm today. 140+ countries to go.
